Powertrain

A lift truck must be rugged enough to hold up to all working conditions for many hours of use, powerful enough to move loads fast and efficiently, yet be ergonomic to the operator. The reliable, rugged Yale powertrain delivers exceptional durability through its computer-managed engine and transmission, its state of the art clutch packs and remarkably robust gears and shafts. The engine, the transmission, the drive axle and the steer axle are all isolated to reduce noise and vibration in the operator’s compartment.

GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:

  • Cast-iron blocks for long life
  • Hardened exhaust valve seats minimize wear
  • Electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system requires minimal adjustment or repair

Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:

  • High compression ratio gives excellent torque
  • Efficient fuel systems provide outstanding fuel consumption

Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:

  • Robust clutch packs provide 3x life of previous packs
  • 15% stronger gears & shafts maximize resistance to rough driving
  • Electronic inching automatically adjusts to compensate for brake wear, reducing maintenance requirements

Techtronix Transmission:

  • Auto Deceleration reduces brake pedal usage & brake wear
  • Computer-controlled power reversal eliminates shock loading to increase durability and improved tire life

Drive Axle:

  • Full floating axle shaft, brake drum mounting & strong ring and pinion gears for increased durability
  • Optional oil cooled wet disc brakes virtually eliminate brake maintenance and are fully sealed against contamination

Steer Axle:

  • “Sandwich” design protects steer cylinder from debris & damage
  • Cast ductile iron axle reduces wear & increases toughness
  • Tapered roller bearings resist front to back and side-to-side forces
  • Fixed-length tie rods for durability
