Proper maintenance starts with the daily checks of the
forklift as well as other elements which are required
for a safe operating environment. Examples of other
important items to check are wheel chocks, trailer locks
and dock plates, adequate lighting, and travel lane
markings for trucks and pedestrians.
These
daily checks or lift truck pre-operation inspections are
an OSHA requirement. Are your operators completing
these inspections prior to starting each shift? If not,
you are not in compliance with this very specific
regulation.
Operational Maintenance
or Full Service Maintenance
An
Operational Maintenance
or Full Service Maintenance program ensures each of your lift trucks receives
timely thorough inspections. In addition to ensuring
uptime and productivity, these inspections and
service maintenance will
also give you assurance that you are operating safely.
